there is a great monster scuplt class in LA, by Jordu Schell. look him up online, hes in the van nuys area. i learned a lot from him about anatomy, layering muscle over bones, and most importantly getting your creation to look real, not just scary. hes very talented and has worked on some of the best creatures in film, (aliens). plus hes a super nice guy, very funny, which is important because you can ask him anything about projects of all kinds and hes there to help.

i hope you're a pro at sculpy by now. I work in the mini-effects houses and we use epoxy clays too.Depends on what application. My stuff is usually proto'd in sculpy then rubber molded then resin or foam cast. then you can take the cast and add on it with the epoxy clay and cast again after tweaking.

I've done a few small figures in super sculpey. Here's the basics:

        You need: Super Sculpey
wire armiture wire (wire hangers work)
        wood base
        2 small beads
        sculpting tools (wood, plastic,and/or rubber)
        plastic wrap
        acrylic paint

Attach the armature wire through drilled holes in the wood base and shape into figure. For better stability the wire should have 3 points of contact with the base (for a human character this can be done with a sword, gun, long cap, ets.) Slowly build the sculpey on to the wire. 2 small wood or glass beads can be used for the eyes. For larger figures I sometimes use doll eyes. Detail the figure with the tools. Use plastic wrap between the tools and sculpy to create a smoother surface. When you are finished bake according to instructions (never use plastic for the eyes or base as it will melt.) When you are ready to paint, avoid putting on thick layers. Dry brush very light layers with very, very light amount of paint. Keep layering colors until you reach desired effect.

Hope you have fun. Make sure to post whatever you end up making!
