I need some black eye advice from you experts out there. How do I make it look the most believable? What product to use? I have been creating them with mostly a combo of eyeshadows. Is there a better way??

Re: Best black eye
Wed, December 10, 2003 - 11:07 PMthe best thing i have found for bruising is Skin illustartor (www.skinillustrator.com) its like watercolors but you use alcohol to activate it. its good because u can realy achieve the translucensy by painting in washes and its waterproof.
the FX pallette has excelent colors that can be used strait or mixed to produse great bruising. for close to the eye i like using rubbermask greasepaint (kryolon's is fine) or cream makeup (ben nye has a good bruise wheel with all the nessecary colors in it) for refrence on painting black eyes, i reccomend finding the picture of jhony depp from the movie "blow" it may be on Ve neil's website.
happy bruising! -

Thu, December 11, 2003 - 4:22 PMyou can lightly use grease paint with an orange stipple sponge in red purple brown olive and dark blue, according to how old the bruise is. but it will run a bit because its oil based. skin illustrater is the best ever, and to check out great bruises try looking up real photos of accidents, physical abuse and all that other stuff. its a bit graphic, but you get to see the real thing. just remember that it will look the most natural if its subtle.

Sat, February 14, 2004 - 8:59 PMI used ben nye's bruise wheel to do some facial work for a "night of the living dead" party. We went into a bar before the party and the bartender was ready to call 911 for me.
