Hi folks,

I'm putting together a zany outfit for a party I'm going to be dancing my ass off at as well as cooking breakfast for. I'd like to do some eyemakeup like this (but in hot pink).

scribble.com/uwi/br/brfa...is-pris.html

Any suggestions on how/what to apply so it'll be bright but stand up to dancing/cooking breakfast the whole night through etc. or is this a pipe dream?

Thanks bunches,

M&C

wash your face well, dry, and then spray on some Graftobian Setting spray (I think Mehron has the same thing as Barrier spray) then apply makeup and apply translucent powder to absorb the exccess moisture, brush away powder and spray setting spray again. Feel free to wait for setting spray to dry and then reapply another layer of setting spray. This should help keep the makeup in place, but sweating is always a challenge for makeup.

Thats the proccess I use when I apply makeup, and I sweat like a pig. Works quite well for me, though I cannot stress enough how important powdering is. Really.

      thanks Ivan,

any place in the bay area you'd suggest for buying the necessary supplies? I've been experimenting with using a regular pink blush but I want something a little more neon pink than most cosmetic makeup shades I've seen.

Having never lived there, I cannot say for certain, but any theatrical or decent costume shop should carry a good supply of makeup. Ben Nye, and Mehron are easy to find, and Graftobian is becoming easier.

I doubt that you will find an over-the-counter makeup that will do what you are wanting, but you can check at M-A-C or if you go to a place that caters to African Americans you will find that the pigmints are much more vibrant.

oh, and you will probably need to reapply a bit to your upper eyelids JUST before you powder, as the creases tend to lose makeup from blinking.

The original Pris makeup was done with an airbrush (Much like Draven in The Crow) but you can do a decent job of replicating it using some patience and a few of those foam wedges to blend the makeup.

Try Kryolan aquacolors. I like using them for body paint and they stick really well but wash off easily with soap and water. Safe for eyes and great as eyeshadow. No extra powder or anything necessary. Lucky for you, the Kryolan US HQ is in SF! Head over to 132 NInth Street and you can shop in their warehouse showroom. You can even get aquacolors that will glow under a blacklight!

do a few trial runs. Thats what I did for an event I went to this weekend. I took some time out the weekend before and just did it, and then did it again until I was happy with it. Keeps you from having any unexpected suprises at the last minute. It was a good thing, too, because my eartips were tricky to fit. I think I'm going to try and make custom ones next time. :)

This companies product sounds intriguing. Im going to stop by my ;local shop and see if they carry any.

Keep us posted on your progress, and show some pics. :)

I guess that means I should upload a few of myself, as well, eh?
