        Hmmm - ok. I've got a couple of suggestions (to use at your own risk)...

        Rubbing alcohol, or any kind of cleaner with an alcohol base has worked wonders for me on stuff that has the tendency to smear. It evaporates quickly and helps dry it out so it doesn't just get worse.

        You might also want to try a commercial stain remover product - one of those that you let sit for a while, then wash it (by hand, and don't put it in the dryer)

        Something I read about, but never tried, for grease/oil-based stains is lemon juice & oxi-clean. That would probably work really well, but I'd rinse it out as soon as possible - I'm not sure if the acid in lemon juice will bleach or weaken the fabric.
