I'm taking a make-up class and need to find some non-staining blood recipes. Any ideas where to start looking?

10 grams of the food dye staff red
2 grams coffee soluble (blood for cinema must be little brown tones)
4 grams of the gelatine 1 gram of the oxides of the zinc (preservative)
The Other recipe - a sweet blood.
0,5 kilograms red beet small to cut on grater and wring out juice Juice to disturb with sugar - 200 grams 50 grams of vodka Coffee soluble 10 grams
Juice to disturb with sugar and warm, then disturb with coffee and vodka.

those formulas are a bit strange....id just break down and go buy stuff from the makeup atore.
go to Frends beauty, and get the stuff called "my blood" it stains the least of any that i have seen and has excelent colors. -

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 1:21 PMYou measure what you put in your blood? I eyeball it and it turns out perfect every time (course it all stains). I agree, those recipes sound pretty stainy.
Why do you need a non-staining blood?
It's a little off topic, but just because it is interesting: www.zubbles.com is to-be-released colored bubbles for kids. I'm not sure about thier "red" but the dye disappears. Perhaps you need a disappearing dye?

Certainly, more simply buy prepare blood in shop, for instance blood of the company Kryolan, but this not always possible.
Most big worries ready shelters - that she leaves the heel on cloth.
The Second problem - an allergy or not possibility to do her(its) food.
well and the main - when for film it is necessary 500 litres shelters - preparing blood will be very costly.
Here on photo I used the food blood on base of the gelatine.

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 3:41 PMyou can add an ounce or two of dish detergent. It doesn't taste great, but it wont kill ya, and it helps to keep it from staining so much.
Kryolan makes some really great blood products. Especially the blood powder. Im intrigued by their new eye blood, but I would like to see an example of it. -

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 5:44 PMCan Not say that blood for eye Kryolan, very good product - disturbs the eye. The Colour pale.
Better this blood are inflicted on contact lenses of the lens (particularly if lenses have a red colour).
Add the soap powder I procould be in 1990 - was got blood + spume.
Powder shelters, good and active, in the same way I liked thick blood Kryolan -

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 7:22 PMperhaps the spume (?) soap bubbles? may be because you used powdered soap? I have only used liquied dish soap, and have not had any trouble, other than slight colour readjustment. (I typically choose the orangeish colored soap.
Too bad about the eyeblood. Guess the blue might work well for a Dune effect, maybe. -

I ended up making a concoction(sp?) from corn syrup, red food coloring, a smidge of cornstarch and water (for opacity), a smidge of soy sauce, and some green dish soap. It looked pretty good.
But I will add all of your ideas to my recipe book -- b/c you never know when they will come in handy!
With any luck I will get a job that requires some "blood" every now and then... -

Tue, September 26, 2006 - 7:06 PMThe best non-staining blood I have made was a lemon dish soap base with foodcolor. The soap keeps the color from getting a grip. Just don't cover your naked body in it for several hours. Trust me. -

Sun, May 20, 2007 - 1:51 AMTry thick chocolate topping (the type you use for icecream and milkshakes) and slowly add powdered red food colouring till you get the colour you desire. Looks like day old blood but they use this recipe on the hit UK TV series "The Bill".
